Eye Inflammation

Symptoms

  • itchy, red eyes and swollen eyelids
  • weeping eyes

Common triggers (allergens)

  • pollen (e.g. tree, weed and grass)
  • house dust mites
  • cockroach
  • pets (e.g. cat, dog, guinea pig, rabbit)
  • other animals (e.g horse and bird)

Why do I have symptoms?

Eye inflammation in connection with hay fever (allergic rhinitis) is often seasonal, occurring during pollen seasons, but it can also be perennial, and persistent throughout the year.

Eye inflammation in brief

Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the eyeballs' outer layer which can occur as a consequence of exposure to allergens or because of an ordinary cold infection. Eye inflammation or conjunctivitis often occurs together with hay fever (allergic rhinitis).
