What is Antiphospholipid Syndrome?
Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disorder. APS is characterized by the production of autoantibodies against phospholipids, major components of every living cell membrane.
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms of antiphospholipid syndrome are blood clots in the veins and arteries, miscarriage, stroke, still brith and thrombocytopenia. APS can also cause neurological disorder (excluding stroke), e.g. epilepsy, chorea, migraine, multi-infarct dementia and lupoid sclerosis.
Please note that many of these diseases are very rare.
