Phadia Allergy Research Forum (PhARF)

PhARF (Phadia Allergy Research Forum) was established in 1987 to honor the 20th anniversary of the discovery of IgE, the immunoglobulin that causes classic allergic diseases like asthma, hay fever, eczema and anaphylactic shock. PhARF is sponsored by Phadia, the world-leading company in the field of in vitro allergy diagnostics.

The objective of PhARF is to encourage progress in allergy research through the recognition of a young outstanding investigator by means of an international award. PhARF also serves as a forum for scientific discussion by arranging symposia, workshops, etc.

Since 1987, an annual Award is offered to a young scientist who has made outstanding contributions to the field of allergy through creative and independent research efforts. Currently, the award amounts to USD 50,000.

PhARF is based on an international Scientific Committee comprised of internationally recognized scientists in the field of allergy. The committee meets once a year to select candidates for the Award and honorable mention.

PhARF cooperates with established scientific organizations in the allergy and immunology area and the Award is presented in connection with the World Allergy Organization (WAO) and/or the European Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (EAACI).
